The Golden Hour Rule

August 4, 2026

If you look at my album covers, my videos, this whole website — it's all sunset. Orange sky, gold water, that last warm hour. People have asked if I ever get tired of it.

I don't, and here's why: the Gulf Coast sunset is the only appointment everybody in this town keeps. Tourists, locals, snowbirds, the guy who's late to everything — at golden hour they're all standing on the same sand facing the same direction, quiet for once. It's the closest thing Florida has to church that meets daily.

My rule is simple: if I'm within ten minutes of the water at golden hour, I go. No phone out until the sun's actually down. The songs are better because of that rule. So am I, probably.
